Toyota Motors Europe (TME) awarded Garrett Turbo Technologies a “Supplier Achievement Award” in the cost reduction category to recognize the Thaon-les-Vosges (TLV) plant’s productivity and capacity improvements in 2011. The award was presented to Garrett, by Hiroyuki Ochiai, Executive Vice President of TME, at the 2012 Annual Business Meeting in Brussels with more than 300 automotive suppliers in attendance. Garrett was one of only six suppliers receiving this award.

The award recognizes Garrett as one of the few suppliers that made a “special contribution” in productivity last year. Specifically, it recognizes TLV’s productivity and capacity improvements on the Toyota VNT final assembly line. These improvements were made during a Process Improvement workshop that Garrett conducted in collaboration with representatives from Toyota’s Lean Manufacturing organization.
