CLEPA – the European Association of Automotive Suppliers – will be providing an outlook on the vision and solutions for On-Board Monitoring (OBM) at 1:15 p.m. on Tuesday, March 23, as part of the On-Board Diagnostics Symposium, Europe Digital Summit.
Garrett has actively supported defining the vision of connected vehicle standards for the industry and Ferdinando De Cristofaro, Garrett’s Chief Engineer for Connected Vehicles, will be present during the Q&A session.
OBM could be an important step for the new Euro 7 regulations, which can work in conjunction with OBD to monitor real-life vehicle compliance for an entire fleet throughout the lifespans of each vehicle. Furthermore, OBM can help with the detection of tampering or severe defects in an individual vehicle, providing invaluable benefits for Integrated Vehicle Health Management (IVHM).
The 2021 On-Board Diagnostics Digital Summit-Europe (OBD-Europe) brings together regulators and industry professionals from around the globe to discuss the latest and most critical standards, regulations, and legislative requirements for Europe, North America, and Asia. Garrett is very active in this field, being a founding member of the Health-Ready Components and Systems (HRCSTM) Consortium to define the SAE JA6268TM standard.
