Garrett’s efforts to further cultivate a great place to work was recently recognized with being placed as a top employer for 2021 in Slovakia.

Garrett’s turbocharger plant in Presov, Slovakia was honored as a Top 5 employer in the manufacturing category by Profesia, a popular job portal website. Profesia hosted an online competition where employees of various companies can vote on the winner.

“This inspires us to go further in continuously improving the workplace and the support we provide to help our people achieve their full potential,” says Marketa Hritz, HR Manager Garrett Slovakia. “Over the last year, the local leadership and HR teams have collaborated closely to drive engagement with all our colleagues, so gaining recognition through this nomination is testament to the success of this endeavor.”

Throughout 2021, the Slovakia team launched several employee engagement and community involvement initiatives to boost employee wellbeing. Each year, the Profesia.sk portal runs a two-step survey to identify the country’s top employers in different categories.

In the first stage of the process, the portal makes its own selection of finalists taking into consideration brand appeal and visibility alongside metrics such as candidate feedback and number of job views.

Secondly, votes cast by employees, former employees and candidates are accounted to determine the final scoring, which Garrett ranked in the Top 5 across all companies in the “Production and Industry” category.
