Making Headlines at Automechanika

The combined presence of Honeywell Friction Materials and Turbo Technologies created some of the biggest headlines at Automechanika, with a strong media outreach program ramping up interest in the companies’ technology portfolio.

On the turbo side, four leading European trade publications, including Automobilwoche in Germany and AutoPos Venta in Spain, interviewed Ed Goodwin, Director of Global Aftermarket at Honeywell Turbochargers. In addition to outlining Honeywell’s global aftermarket business scope and activities, Ed also focused on the “Insist on Genuine” campaign, which is a major anti-counterfeiting initiative. At the same time, he promoted the multiple communications tools now available to distributors and garage technicians – including the recently launched global IAM website.

Says Ed Goodwin: “This media push is a critical element in achieving the long-term objective of enhancing Honeywell’s position and perception in the Aftermarket – a program that began last year with a highly successful European press event held at the Atessa facility.”

At the Friction Materials press conference, 15 journalists from many of the leading European trade titles heard Rainer Bostel, the president of FM, and Miquel Tintore, VP of IAM sales, highlight the leading position of the company in both the OEM and Aftermarket.
