Garrett Motion Announces Settlement in Patent Infringement Proceedings

Garrett Motion Inc. and Melett Limited announce that a settlement has been reached in relation to patent infringement proceedings brought by Garrett. Garrett places great importance on the protection of its core intellectual property and will actively take all necessary measures to defend its rights and combat infringement.

Garrett alleged that Melett had, through various acts relating to Melett’s range of turbocharger products, infringed Garrett’s patent rights concerning its variable geometry VNT and Diesel turbocharger technologies. Melett denied infringement. Melett and Garrett have now reached a confidential worldwide settlement with no admission of liability on behalf of Melett.

Garrett will, if it deems it necessary and appropriate, not hesitate to initiate patent infringement proceedings against any entity, including any company importing into Europe or the USA, whose products are believed to infringe European or US Garrett patents.
