Wiborg Engineering: Unlimited Evo 6

Wiborg Engineering in Mölnlycke Sweden is the go-to performance garage for designing and building some of Europe’s fastest Time Attack cars including their own highly modified Mitsubishi Evo 6. The team has claimed many Time Attack records over the years and most recently an overall victory at the King Of Mantorp Event with a 1:12.1 lap time with the car running on only 3 of its 4 cylinders. The team knew there was more time to make up so they fixed the 950 horsepower GTX3584RS turbocharged 4G63 engine, made some updates to the aero package and headed to the track once more to beat their record time and to become the first car ever at Mantorp Park to make a lap time under 1:10.00.


Fighting with some minor brake issues and traffic that cost a few tenths of a second, and on medium boost, Fredrik Wiborg drove an impressively smooth lap resulting in a new overall track record lap time of 1:09.92. Fredrik says, “But we are not done with a 1:09:92 and be sure of it, a cleaner lap with less traffic, more boost (still got 125-150 hp up our sleeve), and some fine tuning to the gearing in the Drenth Gearbox, we will continue to push the limits of Mantorp.
