For some, that journey continues at Garrett – like Adam Vignal and Sara Franchina, who both started as interns and are now full-time employees in Brno, Czech Republic. From the outset, both were driven by purpose. “I wanted to work on something highly technical – something that would matter to the team,” said Adam, now a Development Engineer working on E-Powertrain systems. Sara, now a Test Engineer in the Brno Lab, share a similar ambition: “I was looking for an internship in the automotive field, within a real industrial environment – and Garrett offered exactly that.”

A key part of their growth was the support they received. Mentors, managers, and teammates helped them navigate challenges while encouraging independence and confidence. “You quickly realize how willing people are to share their knowledge if you just ask,” Adam noted. Sara added: “I was trusted with responsibility from the start, but I always knew support was there when I needed it.”

That balance made the transition from intern to full-time role seamless. As responsibilities grew, both stepped confidently into their new positions. For Sara, moving into the lab environment brought a broader perspective and a deeper understanding of the full workflow. For Adam, taking on increasingly complex challenges became a powerful motivator to keep growing.

Their advice to future interns is simple: be curious, be proactive, and seize every opportunity. Talk to people, ask questions, and don’t hesitate to step outside your comfort zone – because that’s where real learning happens.
