Creating a meaningful impact: Garrett 2024 Sustainability Report

Garrett Motion has released its 2024 Sustainability Report, highlighting how the company created meaningful impact across environment, social and governance throughout the year.

Garrett continues to be at the forefront of innovations that reduce emissions and increase energy efficiency. This is what drives the company’s business success and also remains its most important lasting, positive contribution to society. Garrett’s differentiated portfolio of turbo, hybrid and zero-emission technologies enables customers to meet stricter emissions regulations, reduce greenhouse gases and improve vehicle efficiency, weight, range, and thermal management, as well as improve engine performance and efficiency in industrial applications.

Garrett President and CEO Olivier Rabiller commented: “The actions and progress highlighted in this report reflect Garrett’s dedication to sustainable development. As we look forward, our expertise and continuous advancements of new technologies play an important role in leading the mobility and industry sectors toward a more sustainable future.”

Highlights of the 2024 Sustainability Performance:

  • More than 99% of revenue and R&D spend focus on emission-reducing and zero-emission technologies.
  • On track to meet science-based target of 46.2% GHG reduction (scope 1 and Scope 2) by 2030, with a 7.9% improvement in over the last year, and a 31.3% cumulative reduction since the 2019 baseline year.
  • Delivered a 3.0% decrease in absolute energy consumption in 2024, contributing to a 20.5% reduction since 2019.
  • Achieved a 14% water intensity reduction compared to 2019, meeting the five-year water intensity goal.
  • 100% of Garrett’s manufacturing sites are certified to ISO 450001, ISO 50001, ISO 14001 for health and safety, energy management, and environmental management.
  • Completed 82 health & safety improvement projects across the Garrett sites.
  • Garrett employees represented more than 60 different nationalities and 26.3% of salaried employees were women in 2024.
  • Delivered over 86,000 hours of training during the year.
  • Engaged thousands of students and young engineers through STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) related activities to support the innovators of tomorrow.
