G-XRace Turbo Delivers World Record Setting Success For Prayoonto Racing
Record Setting Success At World Cup Finals
Fans and racers from across the country gathered to see the best drivers push their machines to the limits. Among the standout contenders was Prayoonto Racing’s Yerral Lopez, who piloted his Honda Civic to become the first front-wheel-drive, K-series powered car to reach 200 MPH in the 1/4 mile.
The XFWD (Front Wheel Drive) class attracted 45 of the fastest front-wheel-drive cars in the country for a head-to-head bracketed competition, pairing the quickest 32 cars against each other.
Winners Are Built
Prayoonto Racing’s Honda Civic was equipped with Garrett’s NEW G-XRace GXR45-73 turbocharger. This turbocharger provides +11% more compressor flow compared to the G45-1350 turbocharger. In a class where turbo size is limited, racers seek out every competitive edge.
The G-XRace turbocharger, combined with the teams drag racing expertise, pushed the car to a WORLD SPEED RECORD 1/4 mile of 200.74 MPH at 7.93 seconds. This was nearly 9 mph faster than any other K-series-powered car in the XFWD class, making it the fastest qualifier among all 45 cars.
