Drag Radial Standout Josh Klugger Builds New 1967 Mustang Fastback

Josh Klugger is one of radial racing’s fastest drivers. With his fox body coupe, he won the 2017 NMCA Radial Wars Championship, 2018 No Mercy 8 Pro 275 Championship, and several others. So when it came time to retire the blue Mustang, it was only natural to build a new car from the ground up. Klugger choose a 1967 Mustang fastback as the new chassis. This build features a 548 cubic inch hemi engine from Pro Line Racing, a turbo 400 transmission from Proformance Racing, and a M&M shifter and ProTorque converter. The boost is supplied by twin Garrett GTX5544R turbochargers in 106mm compressor inducer. These are the largest turbochargers in the Garrett large frame portfolio and are rated for engines up to 12.0 liter and air flow to support up to 2,850 horsepower per turbo. The boost is controlled by Turbosmart wastegates and blow off valves and electronics managed by Fuel Tech.

Josh put this beast on the dyno to measure all the ponies and made a whopping 4700 horsepower!
