Australia has one of the largest racing and performance audiences in the world. From rotary powered turbocharged Mazdas like the 13B to Nissan, Toyota, and Mitsubishi 4 and 6 cylinder engines, you will find plenty of Garrett turbochargers supplying boost to these sport compact setups. Supporting performance events allows us to showcase the performance of the Garrett products to race teams as well as interact with our distributors and other performance enthusiasts. The Australia Jamboree provides the platform for all of this.”

The Australia Jamboree series started in 1991 by a group of drag racing enthusiasts to fill a void in the market for a sport compact event throughout Australia. Jamboree has established itself as the premier event on the small car enthusiast’s calendar in Australia. It’s not all about drag racing either! There is just as much happening at the Jamboree off the track with a massive Show-N-Shine, Car Audio Sound Offs, Dyno Comps, Babe & Bikini Comps, Motorcycle Stunt Shows, Automotive Product Displays, Competitions, Giveaways and much more. Many teams and spectators plan their holidays around the Jamboree these days. The Brisbane Jamboree has become the 2nd largest event on the Willowbank Raceway calendar. Jamboree events see close to 500 competitors and approx 10,000 spectators through the gate on average.

The team set up a 6 meter by 6 meter stand to showcase the GTX Gen II, and G Series product line, the PowerMax drop-in performance intercoolers, and the official Garrett Gear apparel. Global Performance Marketing Leader Tim Coltey says, “It’s exciting to use the Brisbane Jamboree as our platform to launch the new Garrett G30-660 and G30-770 turbochargers because Australia has a captive turbo-loving audience and some of the most loyal Garrett enthusiasts in the world.” The new G-Series 30 turbos support engine displacements from 1.4L – 3.5L and horsepower ranges from 475 – 770. These turbochargers are offered in standard and reverse rotation for enthusiasts that want that symmetrical/ mirrored look when twin turbocharging an engine. High temperature turbine wheel construction combined with stainless steel turbine housings make these new G-Series turbos rated for temperatures up to 1050 Deg C.
