Fiat 500 Abarth PowerMax Turbo Upgrade Results

This 2019 Abarth 595 Competizione demonstrates what a properly engineered direct-fit turbocharger upgrade can deliver when paired with the right calibration. Working with X-Tuning, Garrett validated the PowerMax turbocharger on a real customer vehicle to improve low RPM response, extend power to redline, and maintain a practical street-driven setup.

The result was a stronger and more usable powerband, verified dyno gains, and real-world validation on pump fuel without requiring a complex fabrication-based build.

The Goal: More Response and More Power

The objective for this build was to create a more responsive and engaging Abarth while maintaining street legality. The OEM Garrett turbocharger was approaching shaft speeds near 230,000 RPM, limiting available performance headroom and restricting further calibration potential.

The customer wanted a straightforward upgrade path, focused on a direct-fit turbocharger solution that could unlock additional performance without compromising reliability, drivability, or installation simplicity.

With the PowerMax upgrade, X-Tuning reported faster spool, improved low-end response, and a power curve that carries to the rev limiter after calibration.

X-Tuning validated performance through dyno testing and real-world driving conditions.

Real-World Validation

Installation was completed in approximately three hours, reinforcing the value of a direct-fit solution. More importantly, the vehicle underwent extended validation, including approximately 1,000 km of road testing under full load conditions.

Direct-Fit Hardware for a Smarter Upgrade Path

The PowerMax turbocharger is engineered as a complete direct-fit solution, maintaining OEM-level fitment while providing increased airflow capability. This allows tuners to expand performance potential without adding unnecessary complexity to the build.

The inclusion of a machined speed sensor port enables turbo shaft speed monitoring, giving additional insight when pushing the system further.
