On Oct. 24, Garrett Motion was recognized with the “Top 100 Players of China’s New Automotive Supply Chain” award for its second-generation hydrogen fuel cell electric air compressor at the 6th annual Gasgoo Awards in Shanghai.
This distinguished award celebrates leading-edge technologies and acknowledges top companies in the automotive industry. Garrett’s fuel cell compressor was recognized in the “Powertrain, EV Charging & Battery Swapping, Thermal Management” category, marking its second industry accolade in China after winning the 2023 Automotive Innovative Technology Award from the International Automotive Technology Congress.

It includes patented oil-free foil bearings that ensure durability by operating in a contaminant-free environment, and its ultra-high-speed motor, reaching up to 150,000 rpm, reduces both product size and material costs while maintaining output power. Utilizing best-in-class aerodynamics with a turbine expander, the compressor enables efficient energy recovery and minimizes energy consumption, delivering reduced total cost of ownership to customers.
