New Raids against Counterfeiters in China

A new consignment of counterfeit Garrett turbochargers destined for the export market has been seized by local enforcement authorities in Guanzhou in China. The units were impounded in January and are now the subject of an investigation covering the manufacture of the counterfeit products and the intended importer.

The units – all free floating turbos – were not only marked as “Garrett” on the compressor housings but were also accompanied by copied fitting and safety instructions inside replica packaging.
Garrett is fully supportive of action taken against counterfeiters, not least because such products can compromise both the life of vehicles and the safety of installers and consumers.
