Honeywell Named A Finalist for 2017 Automotive News PACE Awards
Honeywell Transportation Systems is one of 30 automotive suppliers representing 34 innovations that has been named a finalist for the 2017 Automotive News Premier Automotive Suppliers’ Contribution to Excellence (PACE) Awards.
The prestigious program, now in its 23rd year, honors suppliers’ innovations in products, information technology, and manufacturing process and capital equipment. The awards are regarded as the Oscars of the automotive components industry, which underscore the auto industry’s commitment to improving fuel economy, emissions and safety, among other goals.
Honeywell is nominated for its new variable nozzle turbocharger developed for gasoline engine. For decades, this variable geometry turbocharger technology has been largely reserved for diesel engine applications with lower operating temperatures. Honeywell has worked with a global automaker to devise a new boosting system capable of withstanding the increased temperatures of a gasoline engine to improve fuel economy benefits with this innovative solution.
In the coming months, the finalists will host teams of independent PACE judges, who are experts from industry, academia and business. The judges will evaluate the innovations for originality and market impact.
Winners will be announced April 3, 2017, in Detroit.
